Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 gallon pineapple juice (100% juice, not from concentrate)
  • 2 liters lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7Up)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 8–10 limes)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (optional)
  • Green food coloring (gel or liquid, 10-15 drops)
  • Neon green food coloring (optional, for glowing effect)
  • Ice ring or large ice cubes
  • For garnish: gummy worms, plastic spider rings, dry ice (optional), lime slices

Instructions

  1. Make the ice ring the night before: Fill a bundt pan or mold halfway with water, add lime slices, gummy worms, and other garnishes. Freeze for 2 hours, then add more water to fill and freeze overnight.
  2. Juice the citrus: Roll limes and lemons on the counter, cut in half, and juice to get 1 cup lime juice and 1/2 cup lemon juice. Strain seeds but leave pulp.
  3. Mix the base: In a large pitcher, combine pineapple juice, lime juice, lemon juice, and water. Stir gently with a wooden spoon. Taste and adjust tartness or sweetness.
  4. Add the color: In a small bowl, mix 10 drops green food coloring with 2 tablespoons water until dissolved. Pour into base and stir. Add more drops if needed for a bright neon green.
  5. Chill the base: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, up to 24 hours.
  6. Assemble just before serving: Pour chilled base into punch bowl. Slowly add lemon-lime soda down the side to preserve carbonation. Stir gently once or twice.
  7. Add the ice ring: Run hot water over the mold for 30 seconds to release. Place ring into punch bowl, garnishes facing up.
  8. Garnish and serve: Add extra gummy worms, plastic spider rings, and lime slices. If using dry ice, add it carefully with tongs, ensuring the bowl is not sealed.

Notes

The base (without soda) can be made up to 5 days ahead and refrigerated. The ice ring can be made a week ahead. For best carbonation, add soda just before serving. If using dry ice, never seal the bowl and use tongs to handle it. For an adult version, add 2-3 cups of white rum or vodka to the base before chilling.
