This no-cook peppermint mocha fudge is a foolproof holiday treat that comes together in minutes with just five main ingredients. It’s perfect for gifting and tastes like a coffee shop in solid form.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (540g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 ounces / 397g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons (10g) instant coffee granules
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) peppermint extract
  • ½ cup (60g) crushed candy canes, plus more for topping
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving a 2-inch overhang on two opposite sides. Lightly grease with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Crush 4 to 5 candy canes in a zip-top bag using a rolling pin or heavy skillet until you have a mix of fine powder and small chunks. Set aside 2 tablespoons for topping.
  3. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir constantly with a silicone spatula until smooth and glossy, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat immediately.
  4. Stir in instant coffee granules, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract (if using) until fully combined and coffee granules are dissolved.
  5. Fold in the remaining crushed candy canes (reserving 2 tablespoons for topping) gently until just distributed.
  6. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread into an even layer. Tap the pan gently on the counter to release air bubbles.
  7. Immediately sprinkle the reserved 2 tablespoons of crushed candy canes over the top and press gently into the surface.
  8. Refrigerate uncovered for at least 3 hours, preferably 4 to 6 hours or overnight, until completely firm.
  9. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment handles. Cut into 1-inch squares using a sharp knife, wiping the knife clean between cuts.

Notes

Do not let the chocolate mixture boil; remove from heat immediately if bubbles appear. For best results, chill for 4 to 6 hours or overnight. Use high-quality chocolate chips for smoother texture. Can be made vegan with dairy-free chocolate chips and vegan condensed milk.
