Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries (about 3 cups)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • 8 oz brie cheese, at room temperature
  • 6 oz sharp white cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 4 oz goat cheese log
  • 6 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz salami, sliced (Genoa salami works great)
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (roasted almonds and candied pecans)
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries (for garnish)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 box water crackers
  • 1 baguette, sliced thin
  • Festive-shaped crackers (optional)
  • 1 apple, sliced (optional)
  • Handful of dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the cranberry-orange relish: In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, water, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 8-10 minutes until cranberries have burst and mixture has thickened. Remove from heat, discard cinnamon stick, and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use.
  2. Prep your ingredients: Take brie out of fridge 30 minutes before serving. Slice cheddar into thin triangles or rectangles. Slice baguette into thin rounds (toast lightly if desired). Arrange prosciutto and salami on a plate.
  3. Set up your board: Place small bowls or ramekins on the board. Fill one with cranberry-orange relish, one with honey, and one with mixed nuts. Space them out.
  4. Add the cheeses: Place brie wheel in a prominent spot near the honey. Arrange sliced cheddar in a fan pattern next to it. Place goat cheese log on the opposite side near the relish.
  5. Layer the meats: Fold prosciutto slices into loose ribbons or roll them up and place in clusters. Arrange salami slices in an overlapping row or fold into triangles.
  6. Fill in the gaps: Scatter dried cranberries, fresh cranberries, and rosemary sprigs around the board. Add apple slices and dark chocolate chips if using.
  7. Add the crackers and bread: Arrange crackers and baguette slices in empty spaces, creating pathways for easy grabbing.
  8. Final touches: Drizzle honey over the brie just before serving. Sprinkle extra fresh cranberries on top of the relish for color.

Notes

Make the cranberry relish up to 3 days ahead for best flavor. Take cheeses out of fridge 30 minutes before serving. Don’t overcrowd the board; leave space between clusters. For a vegan version, use plant-based cheeses and meats. For a nut-free option, replace nuts with roasted chickpeas or pumpkin seeds.
