A warm, creamy, and spiced eggnog latte that’s quick and easy to make at home. Perfect for cozy winter mornings, this recipe combines rich eggnog, bold coffee, and warm spices for a comforting holiday treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) eggnog
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk
  • 1 shot (1-2 oz or 3060 ml) strong brewed espresso or very strong coffee
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • Pinch of ground cardamom (optional but recommended)
  • Whipped cream (for topping, optional)
  • Cinnamon stick (for garnish, optional)
  • Extra grated nutmeg or cinnamon (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew your coffee or espresso. Set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine eggnog, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and cardamom (if using). Do not add vanilla yet.
  3. Heat gently over medium-low heat until steaming and tiny bubbles form around the edges (about 3-4 minutes). Do not boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Froth the mixture using a handheld frother, French press, or whisk until foamy and slightly increased in volume (20-30 seconds).
  6. Pour the brewed coffee into a mug.
  7. Pour the frothed eggnog mixture over the coffee. Stir gently if desired.
  8. Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon, and a cinnamon stick if using.
  9. Taste and adjust spices or sweetness as needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not boil the eggnog or it will curdle. For dairy-free, use oat milk and dairy-free eggnog. For an iced version, shake cold ingredients and pour over ice. For a boozy version, add 1-2 oz dark rum, bourbon, or brandy to the mug before pouring.
