These mummy hot dogs are a quick and easy Halloween treat made with crescent roll dough and hot dogs. Perfect for class parties, trunk-or-treat events, or spooky movie nights, they come together in about 20 minutes and are always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) hot dogs (standard size, beef recommended)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury Original)
  • Mustard or ketchup (for eyes)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)
  • Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Open the can of crescent rolls, unroll the dough, and separate along perforated lines into 8 triangles.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips (about 1/4-inch wide).
  4. Take one strip of dough and wrap it around a hot dog, starting at one end and working to the other, leaving about 1/2 inch at the top for the face. Do not pull the dough too tight; tuck the end underneath the hot dog.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
  6. If desired, brush tops with melted butter for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until dough is golden brown and puffed. Check at 10 minutes.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Using a toothpick or knife tip, dab small dots of mustard or ketchup on the face area for eyes.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For best results, keep crescent roll dough cold until ready to use. If dough becomes sticky, freeze for 2 minutes. Embrace imperfection for a more authentic mummy look. To make ahead, assemble and refrigerate unbaked for up to 2 hours, then bake as directed.
